A Closer Look: The Razer Goliathus Speed Edition

As a non First Person Shooter game player, there is little surprise that the high end mouse and mousepads have been elusive to me all these years. Recently , I was fortunate enough to win one of the better mousepads in a recent tournament. And the frequent uasge of the mousepad change my mind about high end gaming mousepads forever.

Previously I was rather skeptical why on earth would people spend more than 50 quid on a large piece of rubber, when they are already paying over the odds (my opinion) for a mouse. Thus I tried out the Razer Goliathus at a nearby LAN Shop. I found that the Razer Goliathus is certainly worthy of all the hype it has been getting.

For starters, the mousepad is rather thick, and average sized (mine was the smaller version). I tried making random mouse movements with and without the mousepad and the effect was clear. The mousepad does make a difference. I am no expert in this field, but I can clearly see the difference WITH and WITHOUT the mousepad, Now I finally understand why hardcore gamers spend a little fortune on these pieces hardened rubber, because they really do work.

Enough of my rambling, here are some tecnical specs \on why the mousepad really works:

  • Heavily textured weave for maximum mouse control
  • Pixel-precise targeting and tracking
  • Optimized for all mouse sensitivity settings and sensor types.
  • Rubber base for a secure grip on smooth surfaces

So for players who have been getting pawned badly recently, you know what to look for now, especially if you have already owned a high end mouse and need to complete the package.
